Tan Lu is a German-Chinese concert pianist, currently serving as Associate Professor, Master’s Supervisor, and Director of the Comprehensive Teaching and Research Section at the Piano Department of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. She graduated from Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin (Germany) with dual master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Piano Education. During her years in Germany, she gave concert tours across Europe. After returning to China, she has been invited to give solo piano recitals in over 30 Chinese cities and has collaborated with numerous international symphony orchestras and conductors. She founded the “Hangzhou Piano Trio,” which has toured nationwide and released albums such as A Tribute to Classics and Listening to the Four Seasons under China People’s Music Publishing House.
In the field of piano education, many of her students have been admitted to major conservatories of music in Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, and China with outstanding results, and have won awards in various piano competitions. She is also frequently invited to give lectures at universities across China as well as domestic and international music festivals, and serves as a jury member for various piano competitions.
In terms of research, she has led national-level high-end foreign expert projects, participated national, provincial, municipal-level research, and published academic papers in several journals.
