Mr. Xian Jinsong has received instruction from China renowned professors such as Li Qi, Zheng Liqin, and Wu Yuan, among others. Following his graduation from the Affiliated High School of the Central Conservatory of Music, he was accepted into the piano performance program at Folkwang Musikhochschule Essen in Germany. During his time there, he studied under Professor Alla Bratow, a distinguished Russian piano educator, as well as Professor Pi-Hsien Chen from Hochschule fuer Musik und Tanz Koeln and Professor Malinin, former director of Tchaikovsky Conservatory’s piano department (a student and assistant to esteemed piano educator H.Neuhaus).
Upon returning to China, his students have achieved numerous accolades in both domestic and international competitions. In addition to his busy teaching schedule, Mr. Xian Jinsong frequently performs solo concerts throughout Guangdong Province and across the country. Notable examples include “Commemoration of Liszt’s 200th Birth Anniversary – Appreciation Concert of Liszt Piano Works”, “Rachmaninoff’s 24 Preludes” and “Commemoration of Beethoven’s 190th Death Anniversary – Series Concert: Beethoven Piano Sonatas”. In 2018, CHINA RECORD CORPORATION released a DVD featuring Xian Jinsong’s special concert on Beethoven piano sonatas.
In recent years, leveraging his extensive teaching experience, Mr. Xian Jinsong has conducted teacher training courses titled “German Piano Teaching Method Series Lectures” in major cities across Guangdong Province and the Grand Bay-Area Region. Furthermore,in 2016 Shanghai Education Press published Mr.Xian JinSong’s new compilation textbook for Czerny Piano Etudes Grading Course.
In 2017, Mr. Xian Jinsong, as the convener and main drafter, participated in the preparation and formulation of China’s first piano teacher teaching standard 《Ability Standards for Piano Teaching Practitioners in Social Art Education》, which was officially released to Mainland China in Beijing National Center of Performing Arts (NCPA) in the same year.
In 2021, Shanghai Education Press published 《Harry Ore Piano Solo Works Collection》, a research project of China Piano Music Research Center of Xinghai Conservatory of Music, chiefly edited by Mr. Xian Jinsong.
