A Golden-age advocate, Mr.Zhou’s musical esthetics represents the purest quality of classical performing arts in various settings. He has performened as soloist with the Firelands Symphony Orchestra, performing the Prokofiev’s Third Piano Concerto under James Feddeck, shared stage with Musen Lin at Chengdu Philharmonic performing the Beethoven’s “Emperor” concerto. He has also giving solo and chamber concerts at numerous venues throughout North American and Asia.

Born in Chengdu, a southern city of China, Mr. Zhou attended the pre-college program of Sichuan Conservatory of Music where he studied with Professor Jing Huang and DaXin Zheng. He went to United States for his Bachelor’s Degree of Piano performance at Oberlin Conservatory of Music with Professor Peter Takacs. He completed his Master Degree at Rice University, Shepherd School of Music, with Dr. Robert Roux. In 2017, Mr. Zhou graduated with a Doctoral degree (DMA) in University of Houston under the guiding of Nancy Weems. He has also participated to many music international festivals and master classes including working with legendary Leon Fleisher, Paul Badura-Skoda, Abbey Simon, John Lill, Nalita True, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Vladimir Fletsma and Angela Hewitt.

Dr. Zhou has received the international award and Dean’s scholarship from Oberlin Conservatory and is a recipient of the Dr. Margaret Ann Goldstein Prize from Rice University and C.W fellowship from University of Houston. He is also a prize winner of many competitions including DCS international piano competition, Ruth Burr Piano Competition, Firelands Symphony Orchestra Concerto Completion, the Hong Kong Mozart Piano Competition.

In additional as a performer, Dr.Zhou is a very skilled and experienced teacher. He received his pedagogical education from successful teachers including Nancy Weems, John Weems, Robert Roux and Peter Takacs. He believes that there is always a way to lead different types of students to understand and enjoy the musical idea. Since 2018, he works as a faculty in the piano department of Wuhan Conservatory of Music. He has awarded as “outstanding teacher” of WHCM in 2021 and 2023. Many of his students has been offer a place to study in the world’s most prestigious school including Julliard School, Eastman School of music, Oberlin Conservatory and Royal College of Music. Recently, He has translated famous British pedagogue—Tobias Matthay’s work “Relaxation Studies in the Muscular Discriminations Required for Touch, Agility and Expression in Piano Playing” into Chinese.
